Who We Are

EIA stands for Engineers in Action, and McGill EIA is a student chapter of the EIA Bridge Program which designs, funds, and builds pedestrian footbridges in remote communities. The McGill chapter was started in 2018 by then-student Leïlah Sory.

What are we here to offer?

Isolation caused by impassable rivers is a root source of poverty all over the world. Fueled by the passion of university students and the wisdom of our local partners, the EIA Bridge Program builds footbridges with isolated communities. These footbridges ensure they have safe access to essential resources such as education, healthcare, and markets.

We offer students hands-on experience. And a once in a lifetime experience to help people in remote communities. With each footbridge we build, we are building a brighter future for countless communities - one step at a time.

Any undergraduate student at McGill University is welcome to join regardless of major. However, MEIA falls under the purview of McGill EUS.
